Examinations

The Ohio EPA has transitioned out of hosting paper and pencil examinations. The final paper and pencil exams was held on May 3, 2023.

• As an alternative to paper and pencil exams, operators can schedule examinations for certification through WPI (Water Professionals International), formerly known as ABC. Please click here to find testing locations.

Operator FAQs

• Do I have to use eBiz Center to renew? 
  Yes. Certificates expiring after December 31, 2018, will be required to be renewed through the eBiz Center.
• Why don’t I see all my hours in my eBiz Center account?
  The Operator’s contact hours show in their account after the training provider uploads attendance. Please refer to the Certificate of Attendance email for the date that contact hours will be uploaded. If it is passed the deadline listed in the email and the contact hours are not appearing on your account, please contact [email protected].
• Can I add contact hours to my list? Yes, you can add contact hours to your renewal application with the Course approval number, course date, and proof of attendance.
• How do I add internet/correspondence course contact hours?
  Operators will have the ability to add internet and correspondence course contact hours in their renewal application using the course approval number, course date, and proof of attendance.
• If I am audited, do I do anything different in eBiz Center?
  A percentage of Operators will be randomly audited if using the paper application. If an Operator renews through the eBiz Center, then they will not have to do anything different on their application.
